I think Duel to Death has two classics: the huge fight against all the ninjas and Eddy Ko and then the cliff side finale. I’m tempted to say Casanova Wong against the kite ninjas too but that one’s a little short.

It’s become cliched but I think The Raid and The Raid 2 have multiple classic fight scenes. Basically, you can take your pick.

Some might say SPL’s two big fights - Donnie versus Wu Jing and Donnie versus Sammo - are certified classics. I’d be fine going along with that opinion.

In my opinion, The Magnificent Butcher has two, maybe three, legendary fights. The mid movie fight with Lam Ching Ying and his fan against Yuen Biao (my favourite fight scene of all time), the finale between Sammo and Lee Hoi Sang and and even the calligraphy fight.

Can't argue with those two. The ninja fight is one of my all-time favorites.

Yeah, I'd tend to agree with that one myself.

Great choice! I'd say all of those three belong there. There might be a few who'd add a fourth with the Chung Fat cat-style fight, although I'd stick with the three you mentioned.

Not to dump on the concept here, but I think it would be easier to just list the relatively few HK movies that only have ONE outstanding fight scene.

No offense taken. I'd thought about that, but there are way more movies with ONE outstanding fight scene than I realized.

Just to be clear, what classifies a fight scene as classic? Fans mutual agreement? Expert opinion?

Generally the former, but a little of the latter.

Last Hurrah for Chivalry (1979)

Wei Pai v Fung Hak On

Wei Pai and Damian Lau v Lee Hoi Sang

Don't know if I would classify the last fight with Lau Kong as one.

Every damn fight scene in master of the flying guillotine

I added that one with four specific fights...well, three individual fights and the tournament sequence as a single set piece.

- personally I would add the entire end fight of one armed boxer, Jimmy versus the crazy assortment of villains

- the entire dojo fight scene where Jimmy loses his arm and his mates get their asses kicked

- and last but not least Jimmy vs the 2 goons with a hard head inside that workplace (after he discovers all his mates had been killed at the factory)

but like i said earlier I literally love every fight scene of these 2 films! It is like 90 min of non stop highlights for me 😛

I ended up including these two on the list.

Updated the list with the percentages from the poll thread.

I'm always up for new indications of movies with multiple classic fight sequences.

Sammo Hung's directed and starring film "the victim" of 1980. The true star of the film is "beardy" though

The pre end fight then followed by the fight with the henchman and then the end fight. All executed perfectly making a good 15 minutes of the best fight scenes you'll ever see.
