Member AlbertV Posted December 9, 2021 Member Share Posted December 9, 2021 From director Le-Van Kiet (Furie, House in the Alley) comes this new thriller starring Alicia Silverstone and James Tupper. There’s terror in paradise when Jaelyn (Silverstone) and Kyle (Tupper) arrive at a remote seaside villa in Vietnam for a romantic getaway. A torrential storm descends, reducing the villa to little more than a raft and sweeping the young couple out to sea. Suddenly, another danger appears: a school of great white sharks. With her injured husband watching helplessly, Jaelyn must battle the deadly predators alone in this tense thriller that rides an unrelenting wave of fear.
Member DarthKato Posted December 16, 2021 Member Share Posted December 16, 2021 Eh, this story has been done to death at this point, and I wasn't even that crazy about those. Easy pass for me.
Member Iron_Leopard Posted January 1, 2022 Member Share Posted January 1, 2022 Alicia was my #1 90s crush. I'll check this out just for her.
Member AlbertV Posted January 27, 2022 Author Member Share Posted January 27, 2022 I got to interview Le-Van Kiet himself about the new film...we both agree, this could be one of adult Alicia Silverstone's best roles.
Member Drunken Monk Posted January 27, 2022 Member Share Posted January 27, 2022 I must admit, The Shallows is one of my guilty pleasure movies and I also enjoyed 47 Meters Down for the most part. I'm always down for a good shark movie. Since I really enjoyed the direction of Furie, I'm definitely going to give this one a chance.
