The only one to really come close is little girl Fish Ball IMO.. I saw the film yesterday and I'm going to say it...it blew my mind! The story was excellent, Kenji Tanigaki's action felt like a meshing of 90's HK wire-fu and that Japanese anime style action. I couldn't help but laugh at Philip Ng's over the top performance at times, but altogether, definitely one of the best action films of the year IMO.

To those who have watched both and especially my dear friend @One Armed Boxer which one would you prefer 'The Roundup: Punishment' or this one? I know it might be a somewhat unfair comparison but it's basically HK vs Korean action. Go!

Yeah a tough call, the key word here is definitely 'prefer' (as you've tactfully phrased) versus which one is better. It really comes down to if you're a grounded, no wires, knock out punches kind of guy or a stylized, exaggerated, wire-fu kind of guy. Both have their place and fit within the context of the movies they're presented in, but for me these days I'll take 'The Roundup: Punishment'.
