Vinegar Syndrome are releasing Righting Wrongs in July + another HK film in September

Always good to hear that other labels are finally jumping onto the HK film train.

But just remember they don't have the dream team of talented fans I put together working on them and haven't reached out, so I would probably hold off and wait on 88 Films release of Righting Wrongs. We have ALOT going into that one and I kinda doubt VS will best it! :)

Vinegar Syndrome's Righting Wrongs will be released on July 1st.

Probably it`s just pre-order goes live then. Often new releases have been shipped out at the end of the month.

I want to see if they have any extras that will be different from 88 Films version coming out in a few months. The 88 version from what we know will have heaps and heaps of extras.

This special limited edition 3-disc Blu-ray Set comes with a hard slipcase + slipcover combo (designed by Tony Stella & Earl Kessler Jr.) includes a 40-page perfect bound book and is limited to 6,000 units. Only available here at VinegarSyndrome.com!

Martial Arts legend Yuen Biao stars as Ha Ling-Ching, a respected prosecutor who has always followed the rule of law, but has recently found himself frustrated by the ineffectiveness of the court system. Ha is pushed over the edge by the murder of a key witness in a trial along with the witness's entire family. Fed up with the court's inability to punish the guilty and protect the innocent, Ha decides to take the law into his own hands and eliminate those responsible for the murders. Soon, Ha's actions catch the interest of C.I.D. Senior Inspector Cindy See (Cynthia Rothrock) and her slovenly new partner known as Stink Egg (Corey Yuen). While trying to stop Ha, Cindy uncovers who is really behind the recent murders and the two must put aside their differences in order to take down the criminal organization before they go unpunished.

Heavily re-edited and released in different versions throughout the world, RIGHTING WRONGS - released in an English-friendly version under the title Above The Law - is one of the more infamous Hong Kong action films to be released in the 80s. Directed by prolific action director, Corey Yuen, RIGHTING WRONGS explodes with jaw-dropping fight choreography and features strong performances by Yuen Biao, Cynthia Rothrock, Corey Yuen, and Melvin Wong, along with scene-stealing fight cameos by Peter Cunningham and Karen Sheperd. Vinegar Syndrome is extremely proud to present RIGHTING WRONGS on Blu-ray, featuring three different cuts of the movie (including both the "darker" ending as well as the more "audience-friendly" ending) and loaded with a multitude of special features exclusive to this release, including the incredible THE BEST OF MARTIAL ARTS FILMS feature-length documentary from 1990 which includes several interviews and footage from the stars of RIGHTING WRONGS!

Vinegar Syndrome really put in work for this release. I'm excited for the new Cynthia Rothrock commentary as well as the new interviews with Cynthia, Karen Sheperd, Melvin Wong and Peter Cunningham. Amazing stuff.

I'm finally going to put my foot down and not double dip this one. This saves me a few bucks and saves me my wife questioning my mental health when she finds out.

I gotta double dip on this also. I always support 88 films HK releases. But I live in CT, the single most boring state in the US and Vinegar Syndrome being based out of CT is maybe my greatest pride. Have to support all their HK stuff.

I had to double-dip too when I saw the new extras marked "exclusive". But who knows what 88 Films has up their sleeve for their version?! :nerd: It's one of the best of Cynthia, Biao, and Corey Yuen's, so definitely worth two cool special editions for me.

But now I'm questioning your mental health! :sweating:coveredlaugh Kidding. Kudos to you for having more willpower, common sense, and self-preservation skills (not doing things that will cause your wife to kill you in your sleep) than me.

Yes they do, and so do I. Here's hoping Vinegar Syndrome will license and hook up the CHINA O'BRIEN films with a killer, extras-laden collector's set. Outside of her Hong Kong work the first CHINA O film was my intro to Cynthia's US work, given to me by my boss at a little video store I worked at. He'd often grab martial arts screeners for me, and got a kick out of this one featuring my last name and made sure to get it for me. Imagine how excited I was- as a huge fan of ENTER THE DRAGON- when I saw that it was directed by Robert Clouse. I think I still have that screener. :nerd

Oh yeah @Graysman, that artwork is by Tony Stella, one of my favorite contemporary artists. More beautiful work from him here on this set! :clappinghands

Right on @Chemical Lemon! Another great state claim...

Kansas, home of the biggest ball of twine.

New Jersey, home of the Toxic Avenger.

Connecticut, home of Vinegar Syndrome.

VS has great product and superb service. Every package I've ever received from them was packed so securely in thick boxes and arrived fast or earlier than street date. In fact, I repurpose their boxes if I ship something, to recycle and because they're so sturdy.

A fellow packaging repurposer. :cool

In recent times I've done that with stuff pertaining to film reels (shipping and storage), even using bubblewrap from Jiffy bags (where possible) to wrap them (probably not the best material, though!).

I'm another in the double dip group. I'm receiving a stimulus for the rising gas prices in my State of residence and going to use that towards double dipping. If it wasn't for the stimulus, I probably would stick with the VS edition.

How much is gas per gallon where you are right now?

Last time I got it a couple of weeks ago (I've been sick at home for a while) it was $4.99 per gallon. :puke Not sure if it's gone up since then. It may have, to take advantage of the holiday weekend and everyone traveling.

It has just gone up as of today due to mandated gas tax price hike in California.  It's around $6.50 on average in my state. I can only dream about $4.99 per gallon gas right now.
