If you expect a war epic with grand battles you'll be sorely disappointed. This is first and foremost a low key drama with occassional battle. The story follows a group of proxy soldiers who are tasked to accompany the newly appointed crown prince to safety. It lives by it's beautiful landscapes and the great performances by our leads. Also the sorrow of our characters. Some of which have been born into wealth while others have no choices or rights in life at all. I really appreciated that they didn't just go the simple route with the evil japanese invaders. This is also sheds a very poor light on korean society and hierarchy during the time period. I've really enjoyed it (a lot more than I expected). If you're looking for an above average war drama this comes highly recommended.
