The First United States Olympic Karate Team

Four competitors will be competing in Karate at the Olympics in Tokyo. The martial art makes its debut this year in the forms of Kata and Kumite. 

Brian Irr, 33, of Plano, Texas will compete in the 75 KG Kumite.
Sakuma Kokumai, 28, of Honolulu, HI will compete in Women's Kata.
Thomas Scott, 31, will compete in the 75 KG Kumite.
Ariel Torres Gutierrez, 23, of Hialeah, FL, will compete in Men's Kata. 

The Karate events will begin on August 5.
