It's basically Starship Troopers with time travel and without the satire. It's not going to blow anyone's hair back but it's a big popcorn movie that's a pretty fun watch. I would have preferred if it was a bit more R rated as the violence does feel overly toned down at times. It's not enough to distract though. I agree with @sym8 about the ending.
