During the 90's boom up to even today, the Yuan Brothers have made their name in the world of action cinema. Older brother Roger Yuan (born 1961) is a protege of the legendary Chuck Norris. He started out as a stuntman before coming in front of the cameras as fellow Norris protege John Barrett's trainer and served as one of the fight choreographers for the South African action drama American Kickboxer 1 in 1991. Roger would appear in both action and non-action roles his most famous perhaps being the lead villain of Shanghai Noon opposite Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson and as one of Keanu Reeves' opening opponents in the knife throwing fight scene in John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. His most recent appearance is the ill-fated Sifu of the titular Paper Tigers in the kung fu comedy.

As for younger brother Ron Yuan (born 1973), he made his acting debut opposite Don "The Dragon" Wilson as Li in Ring of Fire. Many will remember his opening fight scene against a young Gary Daniels, who viciously knocks out Yuan with a flying knee strike. Ron would appear in many of PM Entertainment's martial arts flicks of the 1990s and even had a bit of a rematch against Daniels in White Tiger. Since then, Ron has made a name for himself as a stuntman, stunt coordinator, and actor in many action films. He designed Jason Statham's fight scenes for Wild Card and played the tough trainer Qiang in Disney's live-action adaptation of Mulan. Yuan directed one film so far, Step Up China, and will be directing the upcoming 47 Ronin sequel. Like his older brother, Ron appears as Hing, one of the titular Paper Tigers in the kung fu comedy.
