Member AlbertV Posted June 18, 2021 Member Share Posted June 18, 2021 This is being described as a less-violent, more emotional ripoff of John Wick, when Nicolas Cage looks for the truffle-hunting pig he's raised after it is kidnapped.

Member laagi Posted June 19, 2021 Member Share Posted June 19, 2021 Given the title I was expecting the lead to be Steven Seagal. Sorry I just couldn't help myself... 1
Member laagi Posted July 19, 2021 Member Share Posted July 19, 2021 Caught me completely off guard! What a nice litte indie gem. And for all the shit Cage is getting (doing my part too) here he proves once again he still go it. This is a very subtle, quiet and emotional movie. Which also sums up Cage's performance. Forget about the whole John Wick comparison. This can stand very well on its own. Also don't be looking for no action. This is first and foremost a drama about love and passion in one's life. If I had to sum it up... Ratatouille for a mature audience. I loved it! I mean heck I almost cried watching some dude cook And last but not least any movie that ends with a cover of The Boss's "I'm on Fire" is a winner in my book. Highly recommended! 2
Member AlbertV Posted July 19, 2021 Author Member Share Posted July 19, 2021 Nicolas Cage, while doing promotion for Pig, explains why he isn't planning on doing any major studio films in the near future (not counting voice work in animated films), settling comfortably with indie films: https://www.darkhorizons.com/cage-not-keen-on-studio-film-return/
