Member Iron_Leopard Posted May 8, 2021 Member Share Posted May 8, 2021 I can never decide between SPL and Ip Man. Two of the best modern and period peice martial arts films of the century so far. I actually really enjoy most of his work. Even his lesser known and "weaker" films like The White Dragon and A Chinese Ghost Story. Whether its hit or miss I will always give a Wilson Yip film a watch.
Member Chu Liu Hsiang Posted May 24, 2021 Member Share Posted May 24, 2021 As much as I appreciate IP MAN, for me it's SPL. I only know 9 of his 26 movies listed at hkmdb. And I belong to the minority that likes DRAGON TIGER GATE,

I know that SPL is a better overall film, but Flash Point has a couple of high points and that last scene is one of my favorite martial art sequences of all-time.
