There will be martial arts - or at least fisticuffs - in Gareth Evans' upcoming film, Havoc. So I don't think he's strayed away from the genre entirely. It just looks like he's done with Indonesia. But that would make sense since he's getting bigger and bigger and can cast more popular actors.

Probably it's also a matter of finance. Lord knows MA movies sure as hell aren't make any money or at least not nearly as much as its counterparts in other genres.

So many viable options for bad ass fight scenes now. Hard to see where you would invest in some cheesy fantasy world when you have Shang Chi, Wick, Atomic Blond and so on. With the UFC and many young men and women practicing Jiu Jitsu or MMA things like Shapes fighting, Silat and so on just don't have the cache they once had. Honestly, better to make a good movie with good fights then a bad one with some good fights.

Part of what was cool back in the past was a guy taking on a dozen guys like nothing. Now most people know what fighters knew all along- it's hard enough to be beat one trained opponent, let alone a room full. Jackie's style of comedy could still pull that off but most people just aren't going to go for it these days. You can just go on Youtube and get endless videos of Kung Fu guys getting crushed, and if one of them says he is "kung fu" and does well, well, it's just generic Kickboxing he is using.

We just have to relax and watch the classics. It's the same for Westerns. They're never bringing back the Italian westerns either.
