Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted January 30, 2021 Member Share Posted January 30, 2021 Since HKMDB can't be relied upon anymore and the search engine on HKFA makes me wanna throw my laptop out of the window and blow my brains out, does anyone have the exact release date for the SB film The Boxer from the Temple? The HK release date, not Singapore, not the magical land of Oz, not the moon... just the HK release date. I'm thinking it was early 1980, but I would like the exact date. Thanks.

HKcinemagic lists it as a 1981 release. Isn't it mentioned on the back of the dvd cover ? Edited January 30, 2021 by ShawAngela

Member teako170 Posted January 31, 2021 Member Share Posted January 31, 2021 Shaw Screen only lists the year (1980). No exact date just like Ten Tigers. Even the studio couldn’t provide me with a precise release date for the latter film.

Thanks again of course for checking
Member reason108 Posted February 2, 2021 Member Share Posted February 2, 2021 Best bet would be to check any HK newspapers during that time to see if release dates are listed for a particular film. Doubtful that most of the HK film industry kept those kinds of exact records.
Member De Ming Li Posted February 15, 2021 Member Share Posted February 15, 2021 OP, can you give examples of why HKMDB can't be relied on anymore? I thought it was probably the best site for generic info on pretty much all HK films made to date.
