1.) The Good and The Bad (Chen Sing/Yasuaki Kurata)

2.) The Rage of Wind (Chen Sing/Yasuaki Kurata)

3.) The Bloody Fists (Chen Sing/Chen Kuan Tai)

The Endfight in this 3 Movies are very hard.

The end fight with Chen Kuan Tai in Bloody Fists is cool. Haven't seen the other two, but the one with Yasuaki Kurata looks interesting.

BTW the links only for the folder pictures right? Because I can't find the link for each lobbycard.

Thank you for sharing.

Hi,

Any chance of posting one of the Chinese lobbies for The Good and the Bad?

The lobby second from right on the bottom row looks to have all the original credits.

I am a great fan of Chen Sing.

He is in the top twenty in my book.

Question; do you prefer him as a villain or a good guy.

For me Chen Sing was made for the villain roles in kung fu movies.

So many movies to choose from of his.

Plus, were not his first roles in kung fu movies a villain as as a minion in some Shaw Brothers movies?

But none the less there is a certain charm to seeing him as a good guy. Do you know what I mean.

I am not one for titles.

But one movie, do to life's circumstances I really love.

where he played the ANTI-HERO in,

do i have it right.

Call of the Wild.

Chen Sing- Clutch of Power

Chen Sing- Two Great Cavaliers

Chen Sing- Kung Fu of the Eight Drunkards

I picked up 18 Shaolin Riders the other day and watched it. He was pretty good in that but the films editing style made it a little hard to follow. He rarely disappoints as a villain. I prefer him as villain.

I liked him a lot in The Himalayan and Heroes of the Wild/Heroes of Shaolin.

He was less impressive in the Shanghai 13 and New Fist of Fury.

Chen Sing's not one of my favorites. I'm surprised he doesn't pop up more often on the overrated actor threads. I guess because he's a better actor and looks slightly more skilled at fighting than Carter Wong he gets a pass:crossedlips:

But, when he has a good role and good direction he's one of the best. Top 3 performances are Heroes of Shaolin, Though Shall Not Kill and Master and the Kid (even though he's only in it 5 minutes he almost steals the show, helped by the voice acting).

I used to feel he was kind of stiff, but that was because, in Gathering of Heroes, he is trying to kick in riding boots. Anyway, as I got older, I realized he is a big, strong dude, and he would hurt most of the guys that he fights in the movies. Christ, he was a prison guard after all.

Chen Sing has always been a favorite; very fast and powerful and one scary sunuvabich as well. My favorites of his are Thou Shall Not Kill... But Once (very underrated film) and Black Panther (stuntwork was well ahead of it's time).

The finale in Brutal Boxer (aka Bloodfingers) is about as good as early 70s basher battles get.

Never heard of The Good and the Bad. That go under another title?

Chan Sing - Basic Biography & Filmography

By Luke Brown

The late Chan Sing was born on the 29th of September 1936 in Bangkok, Thailand. He was brought up on Hainan island, in the South China sea. The islanders main source of income was from fishing, and it was here than Chan Sing first developed his interest in the Martial Art's. Watching the elder's of the island practice there Kung Fu forms, when they were not busy earning a living. He was educated in Wenchang(Chee Wei Village), going to highschool at Haikou First Middle School.

After his parents moved to the Liu Chow Penisula. He took his first steps into the world of Martial Art's as a teenager. A master of Siu Lu Kung Fu lived in the same area as his family. The old master would not teach anyone from outside his own personal circle. Only after Chan Sings continued persistence to watch and learn from the family. Did the old master change his mind and teach the future actor his secrets.

No stranger to hardships, he was brought up in poverty with little money to go around. As a Martial Arts student, he was put through some of the toughest and hardest physical training in China at the time. These highly demanding initiation tests were all done before he could even start to learn any of the basics of Kung Fu. Few students would go the distance, and many gave up before they began to learn anything.

Aged sixteen he became a teacher, and went onto study agriculture at the Wah Nam Agriculture University. He left his studies after his first year, due to being pursued by commnist guards. He fled to Hong Kong with his then Martial Arts teacher. Here his teacher recommended him to a new Master, who studied the art of Fukien Siu Lam Kung Fu. It was during this time that the young Chan Sing would learn the many animal styles. Which would be a big influence on his powerful Tiger Style inspired screen fighting style.

After spending some years as a seaman and traveling around the world. He came back to Hong Kong in 1964, to join the Gojuru Karate Group of the International Hong Kong Barbell Association. Here he also developed his physique through weight training. During this time he saw an advert from Shaw Brother's studios. Who were seeking new talent for their movie empire. He joined 2,000 other hopeful applicants, and impressed the judges so much. He made it to the final four applicants. He made his movie making debut with Return of the One Armed Swordman(1969) directed by Chang Cheh.

During his early years at Shaw Brothers, he was also teaching at local colleges. Not to mention his work for Stanley Prison, where he worked as a prison warden and self defence instructor. He married and started a family, but wasn't happy with the way his film career was going. After appearing in twenty one films over a four year period, he left the studio, with Trilogy of Swordsmanship(1972) being his last Shaws studio production.

He quickly found work in the many independent studios in Hong Kong at the time. It was the height of the Kung Fu movie boom there. Landing a heroic starring role in the highly successful The Bloody Fists(1972) directed by Ng See-Yuen. The first of a string of movies that he would star in over the next few years. Appearing in some of the greatest on-screen battle ever, in films such as Kung Fu the Headcrusher(1972) and Black List(1972). Not forgetting his five classic screen fights with fellow Martial Artist turned actor Yasuaki Kurata. In Kung Fu The Invisible Fist(1972), Rage of Wind(1972), Gold Snatcher's(1973), A Gathering of Heroes(1973) and Black Panther(1973).

In 1991 Chan Sing worked behind the scenes on the Hollywood production Double Impact, directed by Sheldon Lettich and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Continuing to find regular work right up until his last film. Appearing in the Lee Tin-Ho directed CAT-3 production Caged beauties(1992). Having a long and succesful film career, that covered four decades and one hundred and forty three roles. He starred alongside many of Asia biggest screen names. Finally retiring from the entertainment business in 1996, after moving his family to Canada. He passed passed away on the 19th of September 2019 in Indonesia aged 83.

Can anyone help me out with compiling a list of Chen Sing's Asian T.V show appearances?. They don't just have to be Martial Arts releated. I don't have any knowledge of his T.V work, and I'd appreciate any help I can get with this.
