Here is the fantasy scenario:

You have won the lottery and with unlimited disposable income you have the ability to hunt the world for rare film reels to remaster for a boxset you are putting together.

You have 5 films to put into a delux Blu ray package so the question is, what 5 films do you pick and if you wish to add any specific special features

MY PICKS:

SHOWDOWN AT THE COTTON MILL (REMASTERED SUBS AND OPTIONAL ENGLISH AND MANDARIN LANGUAGES)

BORN INVINCIBLE

THE CLUB (CHAN WAI MAN GANGSTER CLASSIC)

SPOOKY ENCOUNTERS 2

CHINATOWN KID (LONGER AMERICAN VERSION)

I sell some subbed versions of some of them. They used to be on youtube for free, but it looks like they were all taken down.

Now if you don't want to spend any money, I still have my version of Forbidden Killing up. The subs were made up for laughs, but they sort of follow the story.

thanks for the recommendations @NoKUNGFUforYU. I've had a look at the films you have been working on from the wanted section and whilst I am curbing the films i buy (I truthfully dont have the space or even time to watch much anymore) I do think the work you are doing in making forgotten films like this available for others to enjoy really important. Keep up the good work mate.

If you can make it over there, it is on VHS with subs. Sadly, no internet download yet, or showing.

1. Burning Ambition (1989) - I know a recently remastered version of this movie exists, but not released with English subtitles. Cantonese/Mandarin versions would be cool. And the film's original trailer as a bonus feature. It's an incredible trailer but I've only been able to see it at the New Beverly Cinema on 35mm; I've never been able to find it online.

2. Daggers 8 (1980) - With Cantonese/Mandarin/English audio options.

3. The Victim (1980) - Cantonese/Mandarin/English with a new subtitle translation since most versions have dubtitles.

4. A Fist Full of Talons (1983) - Extended Chinese version which has scenes not in the International version with Cantonese/Mandarin/English audio options (We never found out where that theme song came from).

5. Mirage (1987) - I would absolutely love to see this remastered, with Cantonese/English audio options and subtitles.

Awesome picks @KenHashibe. Where can that Burning Ambition remastered edition be found? It´s one of my modern action faves.

As it´s a fantasy, I´d make not one, but TWO fantasy film boxsets

CLASSIC BOXSET

The Rebellious Reign

Two Toothless Tigers

Born Invincible

Crystal Fist

The Legend of a Fighter

MODERN BOXSET

Mirage

License to Steal

Angry Ranger

Innocent Interloper

Pantyhose Hero

It was shown on one of the Chinese movies channel.

I saw the preview for it but forgot/didn't check which channel it was so I didn't get a chance to watch it. :sad

I need to start paying more attention to the channels I watch/flip thru.

There have been some remastered movies making the rounds on various Chinese movie channels & VODs

Thank you @thekfc. I'm gonna try find it. The other day I stumbled upon 36 Crazy Fists HD on one of those Chinese sites that you can watch the movies with running adds. But I dunno how that world works. If there are poorer versions of the ones shown on cable channels, how to access to those, etcetera

I know Jimmy isnt really the best but he along with Bruce Lee were my first exposures to kung fu movies so I always have a soft spot for him. Thinl the first films of his I saw were one armed boxer, Wang Yu: king of boxers and flying guillotine so i would defo be up for a copy of your remastered box set too. Lol.

Burning Ambition is one of my favorite Hong Kong action movies from the 80's. It's very dark, but simultaneously cheesy and fun. It's just super hard to find a physical copy of it anywhere, but it should be on YouTube. There are some amazing fight scenes throughout.
