For the longest time I was under the impression that the iconic poster was  done by legendary film poster artist Bob Peak. A few months ago, I found out through an email exchange with Bib's son that Bob in fact is NOT the artist...

Does anyone here  have an idea who the real artist is?

I heard that Bob Peak designed the poster but another artist actually painted it. I cant remember who that artist is though...

Are there any other American movie posters artists from the 1970's, who used a similar artistic style?. To the one used for the original ETD theatrical poster's.

I've looked, but it's still a needle in a haystack type situation. I'm surprised that no one has  stepped up to claim credit for this. I also wonder how Bob peak was credited to begin with, though it may fall into one of those rumours that become truth if repeated enough...

Have you ever noticed that the poster and the soundtrack are slightly different,

maybe add the soundtrack album art to your search, it may turn something up.

Tried it, but nothing so far. Thanks though.

All the best with your search for the orignal artist behind the poster. The poster has a very distinct style to it, and I cant find anything similar from the same era.
