I thought Chu Liu Hsiang was a girl from Germany.... And I don't think the white palace set was in ICOACC, but in plenty other films. 1

Brought to you by Sadamasa Arikawa, best known for directing the special effects for Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster; Son of Godzilla; and Destroy All Monsters! His assistant was Koichi Kawakita, who went on to direct the special effects for all of the Heisei (re: 80s and 90s) Godzilla films save Godzilla 1985. 7

If I'm not mistaken, Yueh Hua was a dancer in this movie, unless it' in another one, but he wore these same clothes as the dancers in your last picture

Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted April 4, 2022 Author Member Share Posted April 4, 2022 Some indoor and outdoor sets from Come Drink with Me... I presume this little red temple seen in other mid 60's Shaw films was on the studio grounds, but it completly disappeared by the late 60's, not featuring in any films I have seen after that at least. Anyone know the story? Probably my second favorite Shaw set of all time after the fisherman's riverside house in Five Superfighters is the Drunken Knight's forest hideaway. A little babbling brook and waterfall, a hut, a meditation spot, stone steps etc. Love it. The classic bridge and village set and the shadowy inn.
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted April 4, 2022 Author Member Share Posted April 4, 2022 CORRECTION, now looking at it, that temple does feature in later films, though more as a dilapitated ruin.

I only watched it once, and admittedly don't remember much apart from really enjoying the lion dance performances. Beautiful eerie outdoor scene. Decorating such sets gotta be an amazing job.
