Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted September 12, 2020 Author Member Share Posted September 12, 2020 A few from New Tales of the Flying Fox.
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted September 15, 2020 Author Member Share Posted September 15, 2020 Just a few from the great Invincible Fist. The depth and verisimilitude of the Shaw sets of the 60's were never matched. This almost looks like the real thing. Some real scope and scale to the mountainside home of Ching Li and Fang Mien that is hard to capture in a screencap.
Member Chu Liu Hsiang Posted September 16, 2020 Member Share Posted September 16, 2020 These beautiful pics always make me want to run home and watch movies immediately 4
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted September 19, 2020 Author Member Share Posted September 19, 2020 A few from two of the best Kung Fu movies ever made, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and King Boxer. Gordo goes to Mars. A monk comes home. "I once knew a Chinese gentleman named Du Wei, he was thick as two planks... and sure enough, so are you" Some great cramp street sets closing in on the treacherous James Nam. The sad remains of happier times.
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted September 20, 2020 Author Member Share Posted September 20, 2020 Love the colored background silhouette intro to Have Sword, Will Travel. The supposed bottom of the iconic Shaw pagoda which is of course a set. Cool villains lair from Temptress of a Thousand Faces.
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted September 20, 2020 Author Member Share Posted September 20, 2020 Lots of great sets in Buddha's Palm, but kinda hard to capture from that non-anamorphic DVD but here are a few anyway.

I assume it's the snow and not the courtesans, that puts you in a kind of xmas mood. What you choose to do with your Christmas time is up to you though. 3

Yes, mainly the snow and less so the torturous sex dungeons, the limb choppings and the lesbionics. 2
Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted October 4, 2020 Author Member Share Posted October 4, 2020 Coward Bastard is one of, if not the worst Shaw movie I have ever seen.... but it has one cool set, that being the big stone sundial where Meng Yuen Man trains while master naps.

Only in the Silent Night, Deadly Night film series would that kind of things be remotely Christmas-related. 2

Member Shaolin Patriot Posted October 26, 2020 Member Share Posted October 26, 2020 (edited) The colorful training sets from 36 Chambers of Shaolin, made you feel the intensity of the moment. Member Secret Executioner Posted October 29, 2020 Member Share Posted October 29, 2020 Their temple sets were always very grand and imposing. Great pieces IMO.
Member HeavenSword Posted October 30, 2020 Member Share Posted October 30, 2020 (edited) A few nice ones from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Also, I didn’t mention him in my review, but I know some people find James Yi Liu annoying ( and I agree) . Unfortunately, he dominates the second half of the movie pretty much ( along with Cherie Chung , so guess it’s not a total loss ) . The Star Wars ripoff fight scene could have been classic if it wasn’t for him begging and crying throughout most of it . Or maybe it was just the tracks and not the station. From The Anonymous Heroes:
Member morpheus Posted January 29, 2021 Member Share Posted January 29, 2021 I swear, I've seen this set from Avenging Eagle in other films, perhaps with some subtle differences. This fight occurred at Eagle HQ near the film's end.

Member HeavenSword Posted March 14, 2021 Member Share Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) Some from the comedy mess that is 36 Secrets Of Courtship . Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted March 27, 2021 Author Member Share Posted March 27, 2021 Some nice ones from Killer Clans. Chor Yuen slowly revving up the sumptuous aesthetics he would rely on for his remaining Shaw tenure.
