Well, what do you ladies and guys think of the Shaolin vs Lama screening? Print is better than the wide version I knew of, but I think it was inferior to both Shaolin vs Wutang and Mystery of Chess Boxing prints. A bit blurry on the action scenes and less general detail. Solid print though, and liked the classic dub. Maybe the quality issues I bring are due to the pc screen which is a 2k one and it may have upscaled this one weirdly?

All in all, very grateful to Dan Haelsted, the RZA and all the people that is making this possible. Being able to access to those prints, that have always been exclusive to elite collectors, I think it´s a milestone on the fandom. Never thought of it. Just take a look at all the amazing prints that have been made available to us, the kung fu people

7 Grandmasters HD

Ninja in the Dragons Den HD

Shaolin vs Wu Tang HD

Shaolin vs Lama HD

Mystery of Chess Boxing HD

Hitman in Hands of Buddha HD

Reckless Cricket HD

To Kill A Mastermind HD

Cantonen Iron Kung Fu HD

Shanghai 13 HD

All of this, plus the Fortune Star remasters and Panoramas and the Shaws and a couple more. Woahhh!!!

Hey @defangthewolf, it was discussed on that thread months ago, you can search for it just typing TKAM, it is really a micro HD source (less than 2 gb) and it appeared on a Chinese torrent site. Your post was the last of that thread.

We need indeed a full whistles treatment of To Kill a Mastermind, but taking that micro HD in account, I think I would prefer Dan would show us first some other classics. I think he's gonna stick first with the ones he did screen on his kung fu movie theater series. And boy he's got some gems under his belt: Snake on Monkey's Shadow, Snake Deadly Act, A fistful of Talons, Super Power, Iron Monkey, Shaolin Invinbles, and many others

So late last night or should I say early morning (3am) I was up to catch the encore of Shaolin Vs Lama. Only to have the stream freeze on me half way in. What a total bummer and on top of that a complete waste of time and money.

Now I can only hope they'll eventually put it up in their library. Man I'm really pissed right now :laluot_08:

Not sure if it was just my connection or WTF happened. But I've seen other users report a freeze too. Anybody else?

I'm not a specialist, but if other viewers have reported freezeing, the stream itself could have crashed or been defective. I've seen this happen on various YouTube streams, and it was definitely NOT an issue related to the viewers. Not sure how/if the streamer will/can/should make it up to the people inconvenienced. A free stream, potentially of the movie in question ?

Anyway, sorry to hear about this @laagi.

@Secret Executioner Yeah I'm not expecting too much out of this. I'm aware this is no real problem with all the shit going on in the world right now.

Eversince they moved their platform the response to e-mail has been slow to say the least. Not sure why!? Again maybe we got other stuff to deal with at the moment. I'll probably end up renting it (again) once it hits their catalogue. I really wanna watch this!

The 36 Cinema Instagram featured a Kung Fu Zombie pic not too long ago. Perhaps a Halloween screening?

Never mind.  They're showing Master of the Flying Guillotine.

Minor rant here as per my earlier post. It's nice they keep having screenings and that I receive notifications by E-mail accordingly.

BUT how about answering a simple question instead? It's been almost a month and I'm still waiting for a reply. That's just plain and simple poor customer service. Sorry to say!

Been a supporter since their first screening but they really need to improve here. It's annoying to say the least.

The first screening of Shaolin vs Lama was terrible for me. Multiple times it froze. I missed large sections of the movie. I sent a simple message asking if there would be a repeat screening. I've never received a reply.  I did watch the second showing, it went smoothly for me.

Am I the only one who was not impressed with the print of Master of the Flying Guillotine.  It was not particularly crisp and the colours were dark and washed out.  I'm still looking forward to their next screening.

Yeah I'm really disappointed with their cs. With their first screening of Shaolin Vs WuTang they always responded and were happy to answer questions. Now all you receive is news of a new screening and their line of merchandise. Not sure I like where this is heading!

I'm hoping they make their new prints available to download or rent some time. I know that Mystery of Chessboxing you are able to rent now but I haven't seen the other two available anywhere since they were first screened.

it seems it is dead in the water...no screening since november/december 2020?

I haven't even noticed. Now that I think of it, I haven't been getting any emails from them about new screenings. Wonder if they are done with it all?

Yeah curious too. It's been quiet for some time now. Hope it's not another dead end. Would definitely be a big loss! Not to mention yet another chance gone to at least catch some of the classics. Anyone try to contact them to see what's up?

Looks like it's still alive. The front page has been updated with a "Returning Soon..." and a link to their VOD catalogue. Just disappointed they still haven't added Shaolin Vs Lama. Maybe a rights issue?

Hope not; they did take their time to add the other ones after the initial screenings I seem to remember. It would be great if they deliver us more classic stuff

They hired me to do art for their new screening too. Posters and shirts available including a Limited Edition of them signed by RZA.

The audio commentary by Dan Halstad and RZA should be really cool to hear. I'm psyched for this. Here's a fun little trailer for the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUeHA8gMpzM

Here's the link to the site to get the ticket for the screening: https://36cinema.com/

Here's the link to the site to get the goods: https://36chambers.com/collections/the-five-deadly-venoms-collection
