Guest Argento476
Is this DVD worth it? How is the A/V quality? Is it a strong improvement over the older release? I hope know plans to release it in the near future. Thanks!
Member Iron_Leopard Posted November 30, 2015 Member Share Posted November 30, 2015 Old thread and this has nothing to do with the question but does anyone else not really care for Swordsman II? It seems to be held in high regard but I had a hard time getting through this movie.

Member reason108 Posted December 22, 2019 Member Share Posted December 22, 2019 The blu-ray looks pretty decent if people are interested in it.
Member Cognoscente Posted May 9, 2021 Member Share Posted May 9, 2021 In Wong Jing's memoir, he talked about this movie: "The first Swordsman had better-than-average box office but it was a huge disappointment considering that it had two pop stars and a handful of famous directors including King Hu. For the sequel, Jet Li replaced Sam Hui as the star. Not too many people were expecting it to do well at the box office. The budget wasn't high, about 20 million Hong Kong dollars. When the movie had a Chinese New Year release in Taiwan, the box office was so huge. During that time, I was getting ready to start shooting Stephen Chow's Royal Tramp. Curiosity got the better of me when I called Tsui Hark's wife, Nansun Shi, to see if I could watch their movie at their studio. On the next Sunday morning, I was treated to a screening. Within the first six minutes, my scalp was tingling. My body was shivering with goose bumps."
