Member ShawAngela Posted February 14, 2020 Member Share Posted February 14, 2020 I just watched Cantonen Iron Kung Fu from Asia Line and it seems to me that the music at the very beginning of the movie (when Beardy is shown training on a red image) and at the very end of the movie is the same as the theme music of Fists of double K. I don't have time to watch again this one, but maybe someone will be able to confirm that ? By the way, GREAT MOVIE, but a little bit short, only 1h22mn... Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted February 14, 2020 Member Share Posted February 14, 2020 Well, 80-90% of music used in classic kung fu films were library music or stolen score bits from European and Hollywood films mainly. So yeah, quite a bit of overlap. I can enjoy some DeWolf tunes and Frankie Chan patchwork compositions, but the lack of care and creativity regarding original soundtracks and scoring is my least favorite aspect of HK cinema. So true, they would be much more enjoyable and coherent if they had used Chinese (style) music. Or Peking Opera sounds, like King Hu did a lot.
