Born in 1947 in Savannah, GA, Donnie Williams was a martial arts champion back in the day, which led to a film career where he not only appeared in Hollywood but even a Hong Kong film! The co-founder of the Black Karate Federation, his film debut was a small role opposite the late Jim Kelly and fellow BKF founder Steve Muhammad (Steve Sanders) in Williams' flashback scene of Enter the Dragon. Williams' skills earned him the chance to face off against Ho Chung-Tao in Bruce Lee: True Story (Bruce Lee: The Man, The Myth) as the star student of Motoyaki, a karate expert who runs afoul of Bruce Lee, played by Ho. Williams had bit parts in other martial arts films until 1985.

Williams' martial arts experience includes Shotokan Karate under Jerry Atkins and Taekwondo first while stationed in Korea while in the Navy before becoming a protege of Byong Yu.

Today, Williams is an ordained Bishop of a non-denominational congregation in Southern California known as The Family Church.
