Member whitesnake Posted January 11, 2020 Member Share Posted January 11, 2020 (edited) Coloroom Pictures, the producers of the Ne Zha animated feature (the animated smash hit in China in summer 2019) have a new animated feature, Jiang Ziya / Legend of Deification. Like Ne Zha, Jiang Ziya is also based on the Chinese classic novel, Fengshen Yanyi (Investiture of the Gods). "Atop the ruins of war, top commander Jiang Ziya is given the task to banish the Nine-tailed Fox Demon who threatens all mortals' very existence. When he discovers the Nine-tailed Fox's life linked to the soul of an innocent girl, he is faced with a challenging decision - follow the will of heaven or find his own path to righteousness." (Well Go USA plot synopsis) The story is related to that of the 1975 animated feature Feng Shen Bang (aka Chinese Gods, wth the 3-eyed Bruce Lee character), and the 2016 movie League of Gods, starring Jet Li. The trailer below was posted on the Well Go USA Youtube Channel. Well Go USA gives Jiang Ziya a limited North American theatrical release on Feb 7, 2020. The Chinese do not like to have a Chinese movie release overseas before its release in China. For the film to get a Chinese release first, cuts back on bootleg releases in China.
