Member AlbertV Posted November 18, 2019 Member Share Posted November 18, 2019 This past weekend, I got my youngest daughter hooked on the 13-episode TV series Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero, known in Japan as Ultraman Powered. The series stars an 18-year old Kane Kosugi as Kane Kosugi, a member of the WINR space team, which consists of Kai, Captain Edlund (Harrison Page), pilots Julie Young (Robyn Bliley) and Rick Sanders (Rob Roy Fitzgerald) and researcher Theresa Beck (Sandra Guibord). When Kai and Young investigate a mysterious light's arrival, while Young leaves, Kai finds himself immersed in the spotlight where he learns an alien battalion is on the way and Kai agrees to become the human host of Ultraman to stop the evil threats. Stuntman Scott Rogers played Ultraman in the action scenes and one of the visual effects experts on the show is Shinji Higuchi of Shin Godzilla fame. Joe Viskocil, who would coordinate the White House explosion of Independence Day and the Hong Kong Convention Center explosion in Gen-X Cops, served as visual effects supervisor on the series. Here is an on-set photo: It would be the only American series in the Ultraman series, preceded by Australia's entry, Ultraman: Towards the Future aka Ultraman Great. In 2007, co-star Robyn Bliley did an interview, which was posted last year on Vantage Point Interviews. Today, she is a director and producer, focusing mainly on music TV specials and commercials.https://vantagepointinterviews.com/2018/07/01/shes-a-winr-actress-robyn-bliley-shares-her-memories-of-ultraman-the-ultimate-hero/
