Member AlbertV Posted November 18, 2019 Member Share Posted November 18, 2019 (edited) Nicolas Cage is gearing up to play one of his greatest roles yet..himself! That's right. Nic Cage is pretty much going to pull a JCVD with the film Massive Talent, which Lionsgate is going to release. "He’ll play actor Nicolas Cage who is desperate to get a role in a new Tarantino movie while also dealing with a mountain of debt and a strained relationship with his teenage daughter. This Cage also occasionally talks to an egotistical 1990s version of himself who rides him for making too many crappy movies and for not being a star anymore. The story begins when he finds himself forced to make an appearance at the birthday party of a Mexican billionaire fan who secretly hopes to show him a script on which he’s been working on. Cage is informed by the CIA that the billionaire is actually a drug cartel kingpin who has kidnapped the daughter of a Mexican presidential nominee, and is recruited by the U.S. government to get intelligence. The situation spirals even more out of control when the Mexican brings over Cage’s daughter and his ex-wife for a reconciliation, and when their lives are on the line, Cage takes on the role of a lifetime." Tom Gormican is set to direct with a script he co-wrote with Kevin Etten Edited November 18, 2019 by AlbertV

Member Super Ninja Posted June 22, 2022 Member Share Posted June 22, 2022 Liking this or not pretty much depends on whether you are a Nicolas Cage fan or not. If there was a Nicolas Cage anti-fan club, I'd be the first to join. So of course, I don't have much good to say about this latest project of his. Even I expected more, especially after reading he'll be reprising his best known roles here. Not only did I have very little fun watching it, I was kinda irritated with Cage using the palm and fist salute. The acid scene is hilarious though. Had to rewatch it.
