Haven't seen it. I will have to check it out when I can.

I never liked Bruce Le. I thought his choreography was good most of the time but his choreography couldn't help his sub standard on screen fighting skills.

Have never been much of a fan of Bruce Le or Dragon Lee but am a fan of Bruce Li. I thought his films like Dynamo, The Lama Avenger, Soul Brothers of Kung Fu and Chinese Stuntman featured great action and were entertaining movies. Dragon and Le just overdid the Bruce mannerisms and came off to campy imo. Challenge of the Tiger is worth seeing though for HJL's appearance.

Thought Dynamo was a bit below average and but still entertaining. HAvent' seen those other flicks. Bruce Li is defintely the best though Tong Long had THE shining performance as a clone. The thing that surprised me about Dynamo was that the final fight was pretty good but it had a great ending which is very rare for a fu movie.

Yeah it was actually meant to be a statement on the exploitive and manipulative nature of the HK movie industry which I'm sure Bruce Li(Real Name:Ho Chung Tao) identified with. This film, along with Chinese Stuntman and Fists of Fury II are his favorite, and he also considers his best films.

Talking of Bruce Li, on his very early films, his English name is Li Shao Lung - Mandarin for Bruce Lee. IS this what they called him on the Chinese versions and if so - dodgy!

I have no idea how many alias names Ho has, mostly given to him by unscrupulous producers. I think Jimmy Shaw came up with the name Bruce Li for Ho when he came out with Exit The Dragon;Enter The Tiger. I have heard Ho personally say in interviews that he wants to be called either Ho Chung Tao or James Ho and that he always hated the Lee alias names the filmakers tried to stick on him as he felt it was cheating people.

I was just watching Dragon On Fire last night. Such a great movie. My favorite character has to be Tino Wong's master who smokes like 8 cigarettes at a time.

I thought it was hilarious! The old rapist got what he deserved, lol. You could tell it was a hot dog weenie they put in the dogs mouth, it looked so ridiculous.....then you have Bolo hopping around like an ape with that big patch of fake hair on him, definately weird.

Talking about history...Asso Asia was formed by Joseph Lai, Tomas Tang and George Lai (bro of Joseph).

At mid-80's everyone went to form their own company.

Today, the movies produced by George Lai in the past are distributed by IFD (mainly femme fatale material by Godfrey Ho) but the movies by Tomas Tang are believed lost in the fire that kill him. Nobody distributes now the Filmmark films.

Thank you AMM for starting this topic. Im a huge fan of Cassanova wong, Eagle Han, Elton Chong, and all of the Godfrey Ho/ IFD movies. This has been very informative.

Does anyone have any information at all about the whereabouts of Elton Chong? The closest i came to finding out was a smalls news article about a guy named Elton Chong who owned a resturaunt called the "Buffet King".

You're very welcome! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person around who actually likes these movies.

I'm afraid that I don't have any information about Elton Chong, but I can point you in the direction of some more Godfrey Ho goodness.

the IFD website doesnt have too many links that work. But i did get a contact email address and send a very nice email to them. I asked if they could provide me with any information in regards to Elton Chong, Mike Wong, Eagle Han, or Godfrey Ho.

Hopefully i'll hear back from them, and if i do ill post it here. Thank you again AMM for starting this topic.

How so? I just visited the site and all of the main links worked fine for me (I didn't check all the trailer and pressbook links due to time).

But i did get a contact email address and send a very nice email to them. I asked if they could provide me with any information in regards to Elton Chong, Mike Wong, Eagle Han, or Godfrey Ho.

I've e-mailed them before and I usually get a nice reply fairly quickly. However, there are times where I've e-mailed them and didn't get a response, only to have them respond when I e-mailed them about something else a few months later. So if they don't reply, don;t lose hope; just try back later.

I don't know how much information (if any) about those actors, but I wouldn't be surprised if they mentioned Godfrey Ho's work with My Way or the Hong Kong Film Academy. Maybe you can e-mail Mr. Ho through the academy (I linked to them in thread that I linked to as "Godfrey Ho goodness")?

Godfrey Ho's fight scenes were so intense and CRISP is the way I will attempt to describe his technique.

Thats why I loved his movies.

I can get past all of the cheezy elements associated with his movies.

It the intensity that always grabed me.

For godsake, aren't you aware that Godfrey Ho DID NOT direct any of these movies? These are the the work of several korean directors....Ho only supervised the english dubbings and recuts for export...

Seems like I saw the film Raging Rivals aka Hard Bastard at the drive-in movies in the early 80's under the title Hands of Lightning. Your sure right about the aka's, with 3 different titles for the same film it definately gets confusing! :\
