Michael Chan Wai-Man - Basic Biography & Filmography

"For my weight, I could punch hard. At that time, I used to enter these empty hand Kung Fu fighting tournaments and, compared to me, the fighters couldn't hit hard, so I used to knock them out. Later, the standard of those kind of matches improved. Now we have quite a few good ring fighters in Hong Kong. I had about sixteen bouts. All but two ended in knock-outs. Many of them, I could knock out with my jab!" - Chan Wai-Man

Recently searched the forum for a Chan Wai-Man thread, did this get lost/deleted when the forum went down in 2016?.

Seem to recall @Lady Jin Szu-Yi starting an appreciation thread for the actor.

The 14K Triads didn't like what people said about Chan...so it has disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

It now resides in a vault next to a 35mm copy of The Big Boss Part II.

The yt clip looks like it's from a TVB interview that would have been done at the time 1979-1980.

Much appreciated, I would love to see the complete segment with English subtitles. Alos need to put this on the to Buy List with about a hundred other titles.

Question: On Michael's HKMDB page, one of his aliases is Bruce Chen. Does anyone know of a film (or specific region release of a film) in which he was credited as Bruce Chen? None of the films listed on the IMDB stated that he was credited as Bruce Chen in anything.

I feel like I saw the "Bruce" pseudonym used for him once on a US poster, but damned if I can recall which one. I'll mull it over, and if I think of it I'll let you know.

He is credited as Bruce Chen on the German VHS of Rocky's Love Affairs called Das Vermächtnis der Ninja. I see there is another release called Ninja Strike. Country unknown, but there is Arabic text on the poster.

Angry Tiger(1973) was later re-issued as Spirits of Bruce Lee, did they change his name on the credits for the re-release?.

In the film itself, he's credited as "Micheal Chan".

I originally started this thread in the Classic Kung Fu movie forum, to ask a question regarding an interview clip. Since it's now been moved into the actor's & Actresses sub-forum. I've now added a mini-bio and basic filmography to the thread. If anyone can see any errors, let me know and I'l make the correct changes.
