Member AlbertV Posted October 1, 2019 Member Share Posted October 1, 2019 MMA fighter Charlene Houghton, who had a small appearance in Chapman To's The Empty Hands, was set to make her lead role debut in this straight to streaming martial arts action film. However, due to the fact that the film revolves around illegal underground fighting and China's restrictions, the film has been currently shelved. The action director of the film is none other than Charlene's father, former Hong Kong film actor and Lau Kar-Leung disciple Mark Houghton. Mark told me in our interview back a few months ago that he is spearheading a plan to get the film released possibly elsewhere. Happy to see it's finally going to see the light of day! This is great news! As Charlene has had her share of screen roles and is a MMA fighter, it will be interesting to see how she fares in a lead role.
