Member SamSeed Posted February 28, 2020 Member Share Posted February 28, 2020 Don't buy a big drink before this one, final running time confirmed as 2 hours 45 minutes. I don't have anything against long films but the longer a Bond film is the less effective I find them to be. Pace is paramount generally speaking but as this is Craig's swansong I'm still hopeful. https://www.esquire.com/uk/culture/a31113993/no-time-to-die-runtime-james-bond/ 2
Member AlbertV Posted March 10, 2020 Member Share Posted March 10, 2020 Due to the coronavirus, we now will have to wait until November as it was announced that the April release has now been pushed back. It will come to the UK on November 12 and the US on November 25. https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/06/media/coronavirus-james-bond-box-office/index.html 1

Member SamSeed Posted September 12, 2021 Member Share Posted September 12, 2021 Running time confirmed as two hours and forty three minutes, which in reality means three and a quarter hours with ads and trailers. https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a37542980/no-time-to-die-runtime-longest-james-bond-movie/ Now. I love Bond as much as the next person. But why is the standard length for blockbusters now so buttock numbingly long? Can writers and directors not edit any more? Storytelling is becoming lost in favour of indulging directors and writers who cannot cut scenes that aren't essential to the plot.

These campaigners pick and choose when to be upset. The first two Kingsmen movies had villains with missing limbs and no one gave a shit. Black Panther, the most “woke” (allegedly) film ever made also had a villain with a prosthetic arm. Not to mention a villain with a massively scarred body. The Lion King’s chief villain not only has a scar but it called Scar! And yet no one bats an eyelid at any of these. Some tropes and just tropes. They’re fun, often dated little cliches that give off that sense of movie magic. Next they’ll be protesting Daredevil because the character doesn’t depict the reality of being blind.
Member sym8 Posted October 2, 2021 Member Share Posted October 2, 2021 Saw this at the imax last night and thought it was great, whether it’s a car chase or shoot out I wasn’t disappointed and the running time for me wasn’t an issue. The only complaint for me was the over use of gadgets which Daniel Craig always said he wasn’t to keen on,but apart from that this was a blast from start to finish. If you watch this then try and hunt out the biggest screen you can find👍👍👍👍 3

Member laagi Posted October 3, 2021 Member Share Posted October 3, 2021 Hmm... I wonder how long til someboy will pick apart Tom Hanks for his performance in Forrest Gump. For some strange reason now, all I want is a Simple Jack movie As for James Bond, it's one of those major franchises I never really cared about. Although the new movies were always more about the action than the actual spy game IMHO. Kind of reminds me of Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible.
Member Koravec Posted October 7, 2021 Member Share Posted October 7, 2021 damn it, isnt this the last one? Feel like I should really be seeing one of these in theaters but Im in full horror flick mode now for the month, trying to keep up with daily viewings and reviews. I bought them all on blu ray and have only seen casino royale years ago. Im conflicted, dont think I can fit watching these into my schedule. Always thought he was a bad pick even though I really like him in this role, might as well of been its own titled series.
Member DiP Posted October 10, 2021 Member Share Posted October 10, 2021 I think I need to see it again because some aspects of the plot was somewhat intricate for my comprehension. There's one thing that put me off... The use of the main villain Safin, and Bond's one and only arch nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Bond's confrontations with them was anti-climatic to say the least, especially Blofeld who deserves much better (it's another wasted opportunity since For Your Eyes Only 40 years ago). But even Safin (wonderfully portrayed by Rami Malek), who otherwise gives a cold, menacing presence in the introductory scene and in all other scenes he's in, was eventually mistreated in the ending. But overall, I enjoyed it and thought of it as a good conclusion to Craig's Bond era, as it contains arguably the most daring ending to any Bond movie ever made, as well as great action and music score (Hans Zimmer gives the movie a slight vibe of his Batman orchestral work in there). I'm a big fan of Craig's Bond, and he went out with a bang with this one imo.

The point of that was that since they couldn't use the Blofeld character, as it belonged to Kevin McClory who kept suing them, to then dump an unnamed look-a-like down a chimney as a big fuck you to McClory. So not a wasted Blofeld cameo as many suspects.
Member Drunken Monk Posted November 1, 2021 Member Share Posted November 1, 2021 I forgot to comment on this one. Saw it two weeks ago. I can honestly say I loved it. The plot was a little straight forward and felt like something to just hang the rest of the movie on but the performances, cinematography and character development were exquisite. When it comes to the action, I have a few qualms. This is the first time I've felt Bond would have benefitted from an R rating. A lot of the gun play feels like it's masked in shadow or quick edits to take away from the actual impact of a gun shot. There are very few bullet wounds, it seems. Also, while the hand to hand stuff was nice and scrappy, it did feel muted by close ups. A nice wide shot or two would have been nice. But this doesn't really take away from the film as a whole. It's definitely in my top 3 Bond movies (all of them being Craig's outing. I'm not a huge fan of the older ones). And that ending blew my socks off.

I did watch Goldeneye recently and I love that one.

Member AlbertV Posted February 9, 2022 Member Share Posted February 9, 2022 This is exactly why the Oscars need to have a Best Stunt Coordination category, because the stunts in No Time to Die were insane.
