Member AlbertV Posted July 2, 2019 Member Share Posted July 2, 2019 WarnerMedia's streaming service will have an animated prequel series to the Gremlins franchise, which will be set in the 1920's. The story? 10-year old Sam Wing (who will go on to be the late Keye Luke's Mr. Wing) meets the Mogwai known as Gizmo for the first time. “Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizmo take a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering — and sometimes battling — colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore,” the project’s logline reads. “On their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.” https://tvline.com/2019/07/01/gremlins-prequel-series-order-warnermedia-streaming-service/
Member Drunken Monk Posted July 2, 2019 Member Share Posted July 2, 2019 I know the new Critters tv show got universally shit on but I'd much prefer a live-action Gremlins tv show. I just can't see an animated version holding the same magic as the movies. It just doesn't seem like the right medium at all.
