Member AlbertV Posted June 19, 2019 Member Share Posted June 19, 2019 I remember seeing this film when it first hit VHS in the early 1990s. Then, a while back, I was able to find the Platinum DVD on eBay for only $3.99 with free shipping. This is a pretty good American/South African B-movie about a mercenary and former Marine (star and writer Asher Brauner) who in a routine mission is kidnapped along with his friend (Jesse Vint) in some African country. When he escapes and his friend is sentenced to die, he recruits his old war buddies (co-star/stunt coordinator John Barrett and Robin Smith), on a do-or-die rescue mission. Again, this is 1989 and it's a B-movie so there are definitely the OTT villains in the forms of Musa Atwa (Adrian Waldron) and Vaisal (Gerald Weir). The opening credits have a 80's synth-rock titular song by Chris Thompson. Trailer:
Member AlbertV Posted July 19, 2021 Author Member Share Posted July 19, 2021 Didn't know this til today. Graham Weir, who played one of the two main villains of the film, died on December 1, 2020 of a stroke. He was born in Scotland in 1959 and his family moved to SA when he was 5.
