Member whitesnake Posted April 15, 2019 Member Share Posted April 15, 2019 Cui Siwei, Chinese screenwriter (Bleeding Steel), has directed his first film, Savage, an action thriller with its premiere at the 2018 Busan International Film Fesival. Cast includes Chang Chen (Brotherhood of Blades I and II), Huang Jue (The Hidden Sword), Li Guangjie (Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe), Liao Fan (Ash Is Purest White), Liu Hua (I Am Not Madame Bovary), and Ni Ni (The Thousand Faces of Dunjia). Plot - "Mt. Baekdu, heavy with snow in the middle of winter. It is said that many ethnic Koreans still live near the snow-covered mountain. A policeman waiting for his transfer and a group of criminals trying to escape from the area after finding stolen goods that were hidden will have a final showdown on the isolated peak." The movie opens in China on April 26. Well Go USA bought North American rights to Savage, and gives it a limited theatrical release on May 3. "The New Currents Award is given to the two best feature films selected from the first or second works of new Asian directors introduced in the New Currents section" of BIFF.
