The official Japanese website is http://wwws.warnerbros.co.jp/rurouni-kenshin2020/ News from https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-04-11/rurouni-kenshin-gets-final-2-live-action-films-in-summer-2020/.145614 "The 'Final Chapter' will adapt the manga's final 'Jinchu' arc, including the episodes also told in the 1999 OVA 'Tsuioku-hen/Trust & Betrayal' about the past story of Kenshin as Hitokiri Battousai during the final years of the Bakumatsu era, explaining the origins of his cross-shaped scar. Member whitesnake Posted May 27, 2020 Author Member Share Posted May 27, 2020 Due to Covid-19, Japanese theatrical release date of the two final live action movies has been pushed back to the Japanese holiday Golden Week, between late April and early May 2021. Sadly, Nobuhiro Watsuki practically got off the hook once he paid a fine of 200,000 Yen (around US $1,920) and went back to work shortly afterwards. The current Rurouni Kenshin Hokkaido Arc Manga English translation in the US pretty much got cancelled once this news broke out. Meanwhile, Yusuke Iseya (who portrayed Shinomori Aoshi) was arrested and sentenced to one year in prison for possessing cannabis. I understand Japan's laws regarding cannabis, but putting these two incidents in the same discussion does bring out a lot of confusion over the severity of the "punishment" Watsuki received.

Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted January 16, 2021 Moderator Share Posted January 16, 2021 Any word on if Kenji Tanigaki is returning as the action director? Regardless of how many returning cast & crew, if he’s missing, these instalments will be left with some pretty big shoes to fill.
