Widescreen Kung Fu Movie Dvds-what's out there?

There's been loads of kung fu movies released on various obscure labels down the years but finding info on them can be hard going, specifically whether they are widescreen. I've mentioned before, i struggle to tolerate kung fu movies in P&S these days. So can any of you peeps mention any old school kung fu movies available on DVD in widescreen/english friendly? Obviously i have plenty but i'm sure there's lots out there i'm missing. look forward to (hopefully) finding some gems i've missed.

Most of the Asia line serie of dvds are widescreen.

Most german kung fu dvds are widescreen.

Of course stuff from Tai seng or Vengeance Video are fullscreen.

Got most of the Asia line plus a number of german dvds. Got a few Vengeance as well, some are widescreen.

Every DVD from HKL, Tartan Asia and most Ground Zero UK DVDs are presented in anamorphic widescreen. Personally, I don't buy PAL DVDs any more if I can. I'm trying to replace all my DVD movies with blu rays as possible. Asia Line's DVD's are pretty good, they do an alright job of reconstructing the movies and then properly compressing them and converting them to PAL, although unfortunately their team don't seem to know how to colour grade them to BBC standards in their earlier releases, but they have gotten better since. They are certainly a lot better than ZinemaXploitation at working with film. Perhaps they have hired new staff who know how to work with their materials and proper analog telecine equipment (analog is always best). Their DVD of Deadly Strike with Bruce Li was excellent and the best version of the film we will probably ever see, as all that remains is a 1 inch type C tape copy used as a VHS master which was evidently cut down to a ratio of 1.66:1 during the telecine process when it was first made, likely a very long time ago. I kind of wish that Asia Line would release more movies on Blu Ray, as they will have definitely 2K digital master copies of their movies around stored on hard drives. I think most collectors would prefer blu ray to DVD if they had the choice.

Perhaps if we advocate enough, Asia Line will start releasing Blu Ray copies of their movies, if they did I'd definitely buy them.

I got it too and it's the same menus as the Asia Line serie… but it's not really a new print I believe… ?

i believe that's the only print left. It's the same print that's been around for a while though it's anamorphic, with the uncut nunchuks spliced in from a crappier source to make it uncut.

yeah the German ones who look very similar in Menus are intentionally done so every fan should have a bit of confidence it's the usual "we did our best Quality" stuff in there.

i don't have a list of all that stuff so i can't help really but these lists are good enough i think.

I haven't listed the large amount of HKL releases as they are pretty well known to everyone i would think? Best adding ones that might be a bit more obscure i reckon

Can anyone confirm if these Eastern Heroes reeases, featured widescreen prints?. The only release from this line that I picked up was My Life Is On The Line. Which I'm sure had been cropped, its sometime since I viewed the DVD though.

Those two titles didn't come out from EH in the end but Vengeance Video. Both were 4:3 releases.

Pretty sure it's from the German dvd… which contain the best print for sure… but unfortunately it's cut by 10 minutes approximately and not English friendly.
