Storm has been around since the early 90s, starting out as a bit part actor, but his martial arts skills had led him to both star and do fight choreography for many films during the 90's B-movie craze. Today, Storm may have appeared in The Martial Arts Kid, but he is more known today for his work in motion capture. He has played Colossus in Deadpool and the "Big G" himself in the 2014 version of Godzilla for Warner Bros. Storm was born Juan Ricardo Ojeda in Indiana to an African-American father and Puerto Rican mother. He was put up for adoption and raised in Hawaii, where he learned both dancing and martial arts as a way to keep himself busy. He is trained in not only hip-hop dancing, but Arashi-Ryu Karate, Taekwondo, Ninjutsu, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. In 1990, credited under his real name, Storm made his film debut opposite Jonathan Ke Quan and Eddie Saavedra in Breathing Fire as Mickey, the Moore brothers' hip hop dancing buddy. Just five years later, Storm began appearing and showcasing his martial arts in many B-movies such as Enter the Blood Ring, Kick of Death, The Ultimate Game, and Bloodrayne to name a few. On the TV circuit, he was the co-lead in the short-lived Conan TV series, which starred Best of the Best 2 villain Ralf Moeller in the titular role. His role of Bayu was Conan's most trusted ally who also was a well-versed fighter. In addition to film and TV, Storm has also delved into video games, doing voiceover work and motion capture. In 2012, Storm starred in an adaptation of the novel "When the Cobra Strikes" in the lead role, re-titled Black Cobra as a South African martial artist who travels to Los Angeles only to find himself set-up in a deal gone bad. In 2015, he played Laurent Kaine, the coach of the bully Bo Whitlaw in The Martial Arts Kid. Member wuxiaman Posted January 9, 2021 Member Share Posted January 9, 2021 I met him at Dragon Fest, Japan World Heroes, and Power Morphicon. We had a conversation about martial arts, as I was practicing Northern Shaolin Kung Fu at the time. We also spoke about Birth of the Dragon taking liberties on Bruce Lee's life as well. Very funny and polite gentleman.
