"This movie will have non-stop stunts and fight scenes like SPL"

This alone makes me real interested now. If this is indeed a reworking of the original idea (set in South America), I think it's for the better since a fish-out-of-water scenario wouldn't do much anyway. Donnie and his team better handle the action choreography on this one since it's his preferred style!

That quote should be the movies tagline, it's sold me, and I've not seen anything else related to the movie yet.

SPL is a fantastic movie but not exactly a non-stop stunt and fight action extravaganza. There are three or four action scenes in the whole movie. But Benny Chan's own Invisible Target was an action-packed movie tour de force.

Ok so Mike Leeder clarified a couple things. This is a completely different project from Crossfire and he hopes that one might still get made one day

Nic Tse and Donnie Yen sounds cool. I think Nic Tse is like the DiCaprio of HK, a guy that always looks young and is a good actor.

Raging Fire should get its' own thread. Will await more news about it and create one, if the mods don't mind doing it now.

So Nic Tse is playing the main villain opposite Donnie? Was honestly expecting someone more fitting. Maybe it's just speculation at this point so I hope it changes.

It has been confirmed: Raging Fire is an unrelated/different project from Crossfire. The movie will be about a police inspector (Yen) who mentors his protege (Tse) and sees the latter rise through the ranks while realizing that his own career is going downhill. But due to unethical methods, the protege goes to jail and as a result seeks revenge on his mentor. Benny Chan will direct, Donnie will take the lead role as well as produce and action direct (yes!).

EDIT: Mods, maybe it's time to create a separate thread for Raging Fire?

This new action/crime movie will be about a police inspector (Yen) who is targeted and attacked by the leader (Tse) of a criminal group during a special operation, a former cop who was mentored by the police inspector but went to jail due to unethical behavior which resulted in the former cop plotting a revenge on his former mentor and those who were responsible for ending his career in the police force.

Emperor Motion Pictures will finance the movie, Benny Chan will direct, and Donnie (other than taking the lead role) will produce and action direct (with his team). Aside from Donnie and Nicholas, the movie will also have Kenny Wong, Kathy Yuen, Deep Ng, Benjamin Lam, Tony Wu, and Jeana Ho in significent roles. Shooting starts next week in Hong Kong.

Benny and Donnie promises to deliver an unforgettable experience of hard-hitting wall-to-wall action sequences, the likes of which Yen hasn't done for years as the lead actor and action director simultaneously.

It will be good to see Tse as a villain again (after 2011's Shaolin) and with Yen doing action duties as well,  should be quite a fight.

Synopsis, from The Film Catalogue:

Shan is a righteous cop who's solved countless cases. One day, his past comes back to haunt him when his sting operation is attacked by a mysterious group of criminals led by Ngo. Ngo was once a talented cop who admired Shan. However, a terrible accident sent him to prison three years ago, transforming him into a furious man dead set on killing everyone who's wronged him.
