Actor, fight director, producer and writer Leung Kar-Yan was one hell of a physical performer. Not to mention a real natural talent when it came to the Asian action genre. A veteran of over 153 film roles spanning from 1974 to present day. Born in on the 20th of January 1949 in Hong Kong. Leung Kar Yan studied Martial Arts from being a child. He received his very first movie role, after sending an application to to the world famous Shaw Brothers studios in 1974. Within just two days of his interview at the studio, he was cast was offered his first work in the entertainment business. Making his Hong Kong movie debut in the Chang Cheh production Shaolin Martial Arts. Quickly followed up by another Chang Cheh flick Five Shaolin Master's(1974). Leung learnt from many people at the Studio, and he was taught personally by the legendary fight choreographer Lau Kar-Leung. It's no wonder, he went on to become a popular star and talent of the 1970's and the early 1980's. Following his first collaboration with Martial Arts talent Sammo Hung in Golden Harvest produced Warriors Two(1978). Leung Kar-Yan contiuned with a series of classic collaborations. With the former Peking Opera action ace. Including Knockabout(1979) co-starring with Yuen Biao and The Victim(1980) with Chang Yi & Fan Lei. His crowning achievement happened when he starred alongside Phillip Ko-Fei & Yasuaki Kurata in the Yuen Woo-Ping directed classic - Legend of A Fighter(1982). Viewed among both fans and critics, as one of the greatest examples of old school Martial Arts movie making. He even enjoyed some success in Television, as his box office star faded. With the two Wuxia inspired shows 1982's Demi-Gods & Semi-Devils, and The Return of The Condor Heroes(1983). 1984 saw the actor turn his talents to directed, making his debut with Profile in Anger. Here he also starred alongside Michael Chan Wai-Man & Pat Ha Man-Jik. His last effort as director was the 2014 production The Scroll of Wing Chun White Crane. In 1992 he established his own production company called Byran Films Co.Nicknamed Beardy by his fanbase, Leung Kar -Yan had a worldwide following stretching from Hong Kong, Jamaica, Europe and the United States. He continues to attract new fans, who are fresh to the Martial Arts genre. He's remianed active in the entertianment fields, with his last appearance on-screen in The Big Explosion(2020). The U.S theatrical poster, with the altenrative title The Fearless Jackal. Produced by Jackel Chan, according to the American release. Alex Gouw(The Gold Connection, Duel of The Seven Tigers), was actually the real producer for this one.
