Member AlbertV Posted January 29, 2019 Member Share Posted January 29, 2019 After the failure of The Mummy led to the dissention of Universal's planned Dark Universe, the company has decided to keep going in creating reboots of the classic films but not connect them. The Invisible Man will now be directed by Leigh Whannell, co-creator of the Saw franchise and the recent action/sci-fi film Upgrade. However, Johnny Depp, who had planned to star in the film as part of the Dark Universe, is no longer attached to star. Jason Blum, the go-to guy for horror these days, is set to produce the film under his Blumhouse banner. https://www.thewrap.com/invisible-man-universal-new-director-johnny-depp/
