Member whitesnake Posted January 18, 2019 Member Share Posted January 18, 2019 Warner Brothers, in its first Chinese animation co-production, with Beijing-based Light Chaser Animation, has released the animated feature White Snake, adapted from the Chinese folktale about Madame White Snake, "in which a white snake-spirit transforms into a human woman and falls in love with a human man. According to earlier reports, the film's story takes place before the white snake meets her human companion." That explains the winged seductress, the sorcerer, the other snake people, the giant crane and other critters in the trailer. And why she's having a romance with a young snake hunter instead of with Xu Xian. The movie, directed by Amp Wong and Zhao Ji, was released in China on December 21, 2018. "Warner Bros. has rights in China, and according to Variety, is negotiating for rights to other major territories." Light Chaser Animation also produced the animated Little Door Gods, released in the U.S. under the title The Guardian Brothers. Netflix showed it with 20 minutes cut out, and the Netflix showing probably explains why I haven't been able to find it in a U.S. home entertainment release.
