The gang from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle are returning. It all started with an Instagram post from Dwayne Johnson

It was announced that Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are all returning for an official third installment of the franchise with a set date of December 13, 2019. The film will be once again helmed by Jake Kasdan, who directed Welcome to the Jungle, and Kasdan co-wrote the script with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. Shooting begins January 21 in Atlanta, Georgia. Filming is to take place from then until April 26. It is being rumored that Awkwafina, the Korean-American comedienne from Neighbors 2 and Crazy Rich Asians, may be appearing in the film with a significant role.

It was announced that Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser'Darius Blain, and Madison Iseman are set to return to their roles from Return to the Jungle. 

They played the teens who became the avatars played by Dwayne Johnson,  Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black respectively.

A listing on the Alberta Film Ratings trailer classification site confirms that the first trailer for “Jumanji: The Next Level,” the follow-up to “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” will arrive in the next few weeks. The 2min 30sec trailer will likely be attached to Sony’s “Spider-Man: Far From Home” opening in cinemas next Tuesday and offer a glimpse of what to expect from Dwayne Johnson and the gang. “Jumanji: The Next Level” opens in cinemas on December 13th.
