The Film Archive is one of Hong Kong’s cultural curiosities. Its five-storey home stands a little off the beaten track, on a nondescript corner of Sai Wan Ho next to a sports centre and opposite the Korean school. Month in, month out, it screens an astonishing range of films from across the span of Hong Kong’s movie history.

My son went there and got me the Cathay book. Sadly, all in Chinese. But, luckily enough, it came with an English CD. I contacted them about help with Cathay, and they did contact them, but as I mentioned, no luck. They are a place to visit and watch a film at a showing or VHS/DVD, but they are not there to help collectors. It is a tiny place according to my son.
