Kung Fu Monster is a new Hong Kong/Chinese "fantasy wu xia pian" directed by  Andrew Lau (The Guillotines).  Cast includes Louis Koo (Paradox), Zhou Dongyu (Goldbuster), Bea Hayden Kuo (Where the Wind Settles), Cheney Chen (the Great Wall), and Bao Bei'er (Lost in Hong Kong).   Plot of Kung Fu Monster (formerly titled When Robbers Meet the Monster) - "During the Wanli Emperor's reign in the Ming dynasty, Sun Yehe, supervisor of the Eastern Depot, was ordered to capture monsters that have escaped from the royal palace.  At the same time, militia warrior Zhen Jian colludes with his martial arts junior Xiong Jiaojiao and female warrior Leng Bingbing gather a group of forest fighters to rob the silver from corrupt officials.  However, silver is missing, while wanted criminal Feng Siahai appears along with Jianghu wanderer Wu Bai.  As a bigger crisis comes, monsters are looking through it nearby."  (from Wikipedia)   The movie's release is tentatively scheduled for December 2018.   Some character posters from Kung Fu Monster were added to AsianFilmStrike on August 25th.

Louis Koo, one of the busiest actors in Hong Kong today, has a new film set for release on January 3 in Hong Kong. He co-stars with Chen Xuedong and Bea Hayden. The film was produced by Derek Yee and directed by Andrew Lau.
