Member AlbertV Posted October 31, 2018 Member Share Posted October 31, 2018 On Monday, Tyler Perry went on a Sirius XM talk show and announced that in 2019, he is officially retiring his signature character of Mabel "Madea" Simmons. The upcoming film A Madea Family Funeral will be Perry's last film as the character and he is also planning a "farewell" stage tour. Perry is still continuing his career as last year, he signed a multi-year deal with Viacom to come up with new programming.
