Guest kenichiku
Howdy, Folks. Lurker no longer, feel great to contribute...in this order: 1. Kobayashi, Harakiri/Seppuku [Nakadai’s Best; Never more bloodier in B&W] 2. Koizumi, After The Rain (Ame Agaru) [Not actioner - but a meditation, Akira Terao-most humanistic samurai ever! Kurosawa script, Nakadai & Mifune’s son Shiro have small roles] 3. Kurosawa, Chaos (Ran) [His last true colorful epic; directed when he was near blind] 4. Gosha, Hunter In The Dark (Yami no karyudo) [Nakadai! Tamba! Chiba! Sexy & signature Gosha slow-boil] 5. Fujita, Lady Snowblood (Shurayukihime) [Lucy Liu cannot touch ‘Scorpion’ Meiko-chan!] 6. Sawashima, Band of Assassins (Shinsengumi) [underrated Mifune; same elite group as portrayed in Gohatto] 7. Inoue, Who's Got The Gold? (Last Hanzo) (Goyôkiba: Oni no Hanzô yawahada koban) [sit and spin!] 8. Kuroda, Baby Cart-White Heaven In Hell (Kozure Ôkami: Jigoku e ikuzo! Daigoro) [Yagyu clan showdown] 9. Yasuda, Zatoichi Meets His Equal (Shin Zatôichi: Yabure! Tojin-ken) [cross cultural antics w/Jimmy Wang Yu’s One Armed Swordsman!] 10.Misumi, Return of Diamajin (Diamajin Ikaru) [stone-face is back!] Para-Chambaras 11. Fukusaku, The Fall Guy (Kamata koshin-kyoku) [fabulous samurai stuntmen comedy] 12. Young, Red Sun (Soleil Rouge) [Mifune! Bronson! Delon! Undress ‘er Andress! Yeah!] Peace
