Member AlbertV Posted September 28, 2018 Member Share Posted September 28, 2018 Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Japanese-Danish actor David Sakurai has studied martial arts as a youngster and at the age of 18, moved to Tokyo to learn acting and filmmaking before returning to his native Denmark in 2008 to work with local actors and filmmakers. In 2014, he gained acclaim for his lead role in the short film Echoes of a Ronin, which features some awesome choreography by Tim Man. Sakurai can also be seen showcasing his skills in Karate Kill!, an episode of Iron Fist season 1, and Dark Samurai. He has had non-MA action roles too in Liza, the Fox Fairy; Unbroken: Path to Redemption, and two upcoming films, the indie horror film Housewife and the big-screen sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. His martial arts styles include Wing Chun and Muay Thai, but has dabbled in other styles.
