I recently asked @DrNgor for his thoughts on this one, but he's given me the cold shoulder lol. Anyone else here have any insight, or opinions on the following, excerpt from a recent write-up.

A small observation I've made recently, that could be way off?. Has anyone else noticed, that a lot of the old school Martial Arts movie law enforcers, often have the name Captain Lu/Lui?. Tan Tao Liang has this name in The Hot The Cool The Vicious(1976), so does Ho Chung Tao in The Deadly Strike(1978). Now, are they all playing a real famous historical character?, placed into fictional stories?. My knowledge of well-known people from the history of Chinese law enforcement, is non existent. Any Kung Fu Fandom reader's/contributor's have an opinion to share on this?.

The High-Kicking lawman, Tan Tao Liang, in a scene from The Hot The Cool And The Vicious(1976).
