Any idea if the original English dub will be included with PROJECT A?  I'll probably just keep to my HKR release of that, as I love watching the Japanese version with the original English dub and extended outtakes and song vocals at the end, but I'll definitely be picking up PROJECT A 2 if the original Cantonese mono is the real deal and not a downmix of the horrible 5.1.

You can't buy the two Project A films separately- it's a box set with both. Besides, you'd want Project A 1 regardless with the new restoration.

I'm not sure if it has the original dub, but as it comes out in about 2 weeks, it shouldn't be a long wait.

So, anyone knows about the procedure on Police Story disc? I'm refraining from buying because it seems odd to buy and fill the reclamation. Plus I'm not in the UK. Aren't they replacing the old versions directly on stores so we can directly buy the good ones?

Order it. Send them an email with a proof of purchase and they'll get a replacement to you. Doesn't matter if you're in the UK or not. It's hard to answer whether buying it from a store will guarantee you a corrected disc, unless you order from Eureka itself. Either way, I'd buy it and shoot them an email. You don't need to do any more than that.

I had the Project A (and Part 2) boxset arrive today:

I'm looking forward to this, I think part 1 is my favourite feature length movie. It might sound quite strange but I think all the elements (action, story, characters etc) of Project A, are done better elsewhere but for me personally nothing has them all together so neatly. I think my opinion is warped by what it meant to me on my first viewing.

I have the first movie on HKR Bluray, is the only difference is the special features and the pretty artwork? Is it really worth double dipping? Not really a fan of the sequel, is that the one on the boat and they had that big explosion in it?

Short answer probably not.

Longer answer: I wouldn't say it was a significant upgrade on the HKR version. Off the top of my head I think the Tony Rayns interview is the only special feature not on The HKR BD. The booklet is another little edition. Honestly if it wasn't for Part 2 being included I don't think I would have personally brought it.

Er...I can't really even remember if there's a glimpse of a boat or any kind of watercraft. I think it's all set on land apart from the opening sequence with pirates on a beach, who come to take revenge against Dragon Ma (Jackie Chan), for their late captain.  A little bit later Ma is transferred to sort out a district with corrupt police. Then later there's a plot about revolutionaries and imperial agents fighting over a black book with a list of revolutionaries names, and Ma ends up helping the revolutionaries...

HUGE upgrade in Picture Quality. Actually, every Eureka release is an upgrade over the HKR due to David Mackenzie- the compressionist god.

Here's a comparison between the HK Upscaled Project A, and Eureka's UK 2K remastered version:

Edit: You have to open the Eureka Screencaps in another tab or else they will look squished like here. They look amazing when viewed correctly.

On facebook Eureka have carried out a survey asking what films fans have enjoyed most this year, one of the questions asks which releases next year people are most looking forward to & these are some of the titles listed;

Hand of Death/Last Hurrah for Chivalry

Eastern Condors/Magnificent Butcher/Iron Fisted Monk

Wheels on Meals

Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain

I would guess the titles listed together would be box sets. Looking forward to 2019!

Anyone else noticed, that the colours used on the three OUTIC BR covers, are the exactly the same, as the first three colours of choice, for the forums backdrop?, red, yellow, and green.

This is amazing news, if guaranteed. I can take or leave Zu but all the others I'd love on Blu Ray.

Hello everyone! :)

Some of you probably know by now I have been assisting Eureka with all the Hong Kong releases.

I hope you all have been enjoying the releases so far. :)

Alot of love is going into them that's for sure. I had originally planned to be more active in this thread, but it's always dead.

Hopefully with the announcement of the upcoming 2019 titles it will get more active in here. :)

Here is what is currently confirmed for 2019

Wheels on Meals

Hand of Death/Last Hurrah for Chivalry (box set)

Eastern Condors/Magnificent Butcher/Iron Fisted Monk

Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain

I have already been working on getting the best quality original language audio tracks & making sure we get them classic English dubs on all the upcoming releases.

New English subtitle translations are being worked on as well.

Feel free to post or PM me questions.

As always if anyone here wants to contribute or help on the upcoming releases or have any suggestions please feel free to PM me. :)

Always looking for HK laserdisc audio even if it's not listed as an upcoming Eureka title.

So if anyone has a large HK laserdisc collection and can rip audio please contact me.

I'm currently looking for the rare Japanese laserdisc for Magnificent Butcher so if anyone has this please PM me.
