Member LuFengLover Posted August 28, 2018 Member Share Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) I had the pleasure of spending more time with Lu Feng aka Luther Chu at DragonFest 2018 in Burbank, California. He did not come alone this time but he brought his beautiful and sweet wife Lily and their handsome and funny son Jack. I'll share some of my memories and videos here. Member morpheus Posted June 13, 2020 Member Share Posted June 13, 2020 Lu Feng could look really intimidating when he was young. Now, he looks like the kind of grandpa with whom you want to just cruise.
Member wuxiaman Posted January 9, 2021 Member Share Posted January 9, 2021 I was there with my buddy! I asked him in Mandarin if he liked my buddy's shirt that states Gwei Lo 鬼佬, which my buddy wore purposely (and knowing its meaning). Lu Feng immediately told my buddy in English: "BAD WORD! WHO GAVE YOU?". I immediately told Lu Feng that it was me, and he cracked up hard. Never thought I would make Lu Feng crack up.

Member venomsreviews Posted May 2, 2022 Member Share Posted May 2, 2022 (edited) I feel like this would probably be best suited for this thread. Here is a clip of Lu Feng and Chin Siu-Ho behind the scenes of Masked Avengers: IMG_0873.MOV If you can’t see it like that, here’s the link to a Facebook post with it: https://m.facebook.com/Wuxia-Weekend-943217095851979/videos/behind-the-scenes-of-masked-avengers/671865539896430/ Along with some of my favorite pictures of him: Edited May 2, 2022 by venomsreviews

Lu Feng seems so nice honestly, it was really sweet that he rushed to check on Chin Siu-Ho like that. I agree! I’d love to see more behind the scenes clips since I feel like they’d be very interesting.
Member venomsreviews Posted May 8, 2022 Member Share Posted May 8, 2022 (edited) I thought I would share what Lu Feng said about the movie Death Ring since I am currently watching it again. Lu Feng stayed at Chang Cheh's company as assistant director after Kuo Chui and Chiang Sheng left. They eventually went to Thailand to shoot Death Ring. I mentioned this in my thread for Lee Chung-Yat, but Lu Feng had brought him to star in it and he also chose a lot of Thai actors. Lu Feng and Chiu Gwok were the martial arts directors for the film. Even though Lu Feng took the movie to Chinese distributors, none of them would take it, which meant that it was only shown in Thailand (as far as Lu Feng is aware). This was before they shot The Nine Demons, actually. Here are some pictures of him in the movie. I will say that I really did enjoy this movie. I appreciated the fact that they used Thai actors and showed off some beautiful scenery and moments within the movie. It had great fights and the acting was wonderful, but those details stood out to me the most. Edited May 8, 2022 by venomsreviews

Member venomsreviews Posted May 9, 2022 Member Share Posted May 9, 2022 (edited) One of my favorite parts of a Lu Feng interview that I read was when he mentioned which of the characters he’s played are his favorites, so I thought I’d share them. He said his absolutely favorite was Hu Yidao from Legend of the Fox (1980). Next would be Gao Jinzhong from Shaolin Rescuers (1979) and Two Champions of Shaolin (1980)! The last mentioned was Hua Chong from House of Traps (1982). He actually said he thought he was very handsome in that movie! He played the same character in two movies ? Does it mean that they are related ? I watched them a while ago and I don't remember any connection between thes two titles.

He actually won an award for “Best Supporting Actor” at the 25th Asian Film Festival for Shaolin Rescuers. I see that the other replies before mine have explained the films' sharing the similar themes, but I will add that none of the other actors are playing the same characters. Lu Feng was the only one. Member venomsreviews Posted May 10, 2022 Member Share Posted May 10, 2022 I thought this was quite interesting. Lu Feng was discussing his time at the opera school. He said that they were up to start the day at 5 a.m. and the first class began at 5:30. He would learn things like somersaults, which he thought was hard at first, but that training was something that helped him immensely in his career. Breakfast was finished by 7:30, which is when he began to learn about weapons like knives, guns, swords, fei cha, and many more. They would have regular academic studies and classes during the afternoon and night! For 9 years, they continued to do that routine, but the last 2 years were reserved for stage performances!
Member venomsreviews Posted May 13, 2022 Member Share Posted May 13, 2022 I thought I’d share some pictures of Lu Feng in different movies. This is from The Twelve Fairies, which was a very interesting movie! He wasn’t in the movie for very long, though. It also has Yang Hsiung in it! I enjoyed it even though I was surprised throughout the whole thing since I didn’t know what it was about. (https://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=11207&display_set=eng) This is him with Chiang Sheng in Fight Among the Supers. I loved this movie a lot! Both of them were a lot of fun in this one! I don’t remember why but I stopped watching Ninja Condors after I took some screenshots of him so I need to finish it.

I tried to watch some more of the movie after I made that post, but I couldn’t really get into it. I don’t know what it is, but there was something about the film that felt off to me. I haven’t had much luck with movies that have Alexander Lo Rei in them as I didn’t like the one he was in that also had Chiang Sheng in it either. Although, I did like Ninja Kids because of Lu Feng and Chiang Sheng! Edited May 13, 2022 by venomsreviews
