This one of my favorite Shaw Brothers movies.

Hard to beat, as many of them no doubt are.

I do think that parts of this movie are in a class by themselves.

It also has a Taiwanese feel to it.

The Movie Is:

WRATH OF THE SWORD

YouTube has a very good print.

I got this in VHS in Seattle, Washington 1991.

Watched it in recent months and it still blows me away.

Sorry, but this isn't a Shaw Brother's movie, even if Shaws' stars are in it, unless it was a coproductin that i wasn't aware of.

Shu Pei Pei and Tang Ching star in it, as well as Chiang Nan, Wei Ping Ao and Wu Ma, maybe it's the reason why the Shaws' logo appears on the poster, but it's not a Shaws' movie.

I first saw it in a cinema when I was young, and I look for it for ages before getting Jamal's release. It was a great movie, I loved it !!

Haven’t seen this one. Did Celestial not have a proper print to master this one?

Thanks to Shaw Angela.

It's a great flick, one of the best of the independents. Wu Ma really was able to make it look bigger budget than it was. He picked up a lot of tricks from Shaw's that some of the other directors seemingly did not when they left.
