Member DragonClaws Posted November 20, 2018 Author Member Share Posted November 20, 2018 Thanks to @Fist of the Heavenly Sky for the heads up on this tid-bit of informatiom, taken from The Big Boss press booklet he posted, in TBB appreciation thread. Listed among the BL facts, it mentions BL taught self-defence to Lee Marvin, which has often been debated amongst fans. However, it actually states, he taught LM self-defence, for his role in The Proffesionals(1966), an expenables like ensemble of 60's action stars. Now I've watched this film a few times, but don't recall Marvin performing any basic MA moves?. Maybe Marvin was never a full time student, and he just hooked up with Lee for a short period of time. L-R, Burt Lancaster, Claudia Cardinale, Lee Marvin, Robert Ryan, Woody Stroude, The Prefessonals.

Member DragonClaws Posted December 11, 2018 Author Member Share Posted December 11, 2018 This VHS release of Marlowe, gets the Bruceploitation treatment. MGM re-issued the film theatrically, shortly after BL's passing, only with his name more prominent on the promotional posters.

Bruce Lee: The Intercepting Fist Many documentaries have been produced about the life and work of Bruce Lee. This one has perhaps the most extensive coverage of Bruce Lee's work on Longstreet and how it demonstrated his martial arts philosophy. It includes interviews with Longstreet producer Joel Rogosin and actor Peter Mark Richman and is now available on DVD, VCD, and VHS, in both PAL and NTSC format. Member DragonClaws Posted January 28, 2019 Author Member Share Posted January 28, 2019 (edited) Bruce with friend and student James Yimm Lee, visiting the set of The Green Hornet series, with his children. Article for @shukocarl Quote Pop culture icon and action mega-star of 1970s Kung fu films like “Enter the Dragon,” Bruce Lee imported the more formal and traditional Wing Chun practices of his Hong Kong childhood to the mean streets of the East Bay. The synthesis Lee invented aimed to improve practicality in often-chaotic street fights and together with well-known instructor James Yimm Lee (no relation), Bruce Lee soon opened a “Jun Fan Gung Fu” martial arts studio in Oakland.
