Why would that change my mind? The movie is crap BECAUSE of all those things.

It's always been a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. It came out at a time when the video game series was huge, and I was a kid who was already deeply invested in the series (even though the film isn't really faithful to it). I look at it through different eyes now, but it's worth a watch now and then. Judging it from this article, it could have been very different.
